He was retired from the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, a member of Prosperity Baptist Church and a member of Michael Dempsey Lodge No. 327 where he was a 32nd degree mason. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Prosperity Baptist Church with the Revs. Oliver Dean and David Willoughby, officiating. Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery of Jena under arrangements by Kinner and Stevens Funeral home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Myrtis Masters of Walters; a daughter, Sharon Slay of Jena; a son, Shelby Masters of Walters; three brothers, W.G. Wilson, Obie Lee Masters and Elbie Masters, all of Jena; three sisters, Verda Bignar and Edna Breithaupt, both of Jena and Valerie Coon of Nebo; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Willie Tradewell, Terry Masters, John Joy, Curt Ainsworth, LaVelle Stevenson and Doyle Stevenson.
