All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Michael Shane Myers Michael Shane Myers, 16, of Tullos, was killed Tuesday afternoon, February 12, 1991, in a one-vehicle accident on Early Mercer Road just west of Tullos in Winn Parish. The youth died after the car he was in ran off the road and flipped. Myers was ejected from the vehicle and pinned underneath when Louisiana State Police arrived at the scene. State Police believe the car was driven by Robert D. Wright, 30, of Winnfield, but Wright, who received minor injuries, denies he was driving the car when it wrecked. State police said investigation of the wreck is continuing. Services for Myers were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with the Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Burial followed at Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include his mother, Linda Sue Mercer of Winnfield; his father, Elmer Myers of Olla; one brother, Christopher Myers of Ruston; one sister, Brandy Lynn Myers of Tullos; two step-sisters, Mandy Ford of Olla and Pauline Helfriuk of Kelly; maternal grandmother, Eunice Mercer of Tullos and paternal grandmother, Jewell Myers of Olla. Pallbearers were Jack Myers, Jesse Myers, Billy Ray Tatum, Willie Beaubouef, Julius Mercer and Ray Mercer.
