Morris, 71, Succumbs at Midway Jack Marion Morris, 71, of Midway, who died at his home Friday morning, Sept. 21, shortly before noon, was buried Saturday afternoon following services held at the Huffman Cemetery near Manifest at 3:15 o'clock. A member of the Midway Baptist church, he had resided in the area some 30 years prior to his death. He was a retired farmer by occupation. Final rites were conducted by Revs. Jerry F. Poston, pastor of the Midway Baptist Church, Walter Stone, P.A. Paul and Harvey McClure. Interment was under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosa M. Morris of Midway; four sons, J.R. Morris of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., W.W. of Marrero, Otis Ray of Fort Ord, Calif., and Jack of Rhinehart; four brothers, Jim of Winnsboro, Winson of Jonesville, William of Rhinehart and Robert of Jonesville; one sister, Mrs. Julia West of Oak Grove, and one grandchild. Pallbearers named for the final rites were Carlton D. Hopkins, Waymond K. Hopkins, Edsel R. Keen, William West, Stanley West and Clermont West.
