He was a retired farmer and school bus driver for the Catahoula Parish School System and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Whitehall United Pentecostal Church with Revs. Larry Wolfe, Vernon Bradley and Randy Harper, officiating. Burial followed in Pentecost Cemetery of near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Emogene McClure of Jonesville; a daughter, Cynthia McClure Masters of Jonesville and one grandson. Pallbearers were Dexter McClure, Conrad McClure, Alan McClure, Kevin McClure, Chris Taylor and Don Breithaupt. Honorary pallbearers were Lavel Doughty, Virgel Smith, Doug McClure, Junior McClure, Mike Taylor, Jimmy McClure and Clifton McClure.
