Headline:  Henry R. Miles Dies At Clinic in Olla

Henry R. Miles, 80, of New Orleans, died Monday, March 15, at the Olla Clinic.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Ola Ross, New Albany, Ind., Miss Della Miles,
 New Orleans, Mrs. Zola Butler, New Orleans, Mrs. Minnie Bagby, Oak Grove, Mrs. 
Beatrice Womack, Tullos, Mrs. Lena Wright, Georgetown, one sister, Mrs. Mary 
Murry, Hattiesburg, Miss.; one brother, Will Miles, Baskin; 39 grandchildren, 37 
great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the New Union Baptist Church near Tullos.  Rev. H. E. 
Miles officiated.  Interment was in the New Union Cemetery under direction of 
Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home.

Headline: Louise Griffin Mitchell

Louise (Griffin) Mitchell of Houston, Texas, died at 5:50 a.m. Sunday, December 25, 
1988, at the Humana Hospital.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Blue Belle Chapter of the 
Order of the Eastern Star, First Baptist Church of Houston, and National Grandmothers 
Club.

Services were held in the chapel of the Heights Funeral Home, Houston, at 9 a.m. 
Wednesday with the Rev. James Bradford officiating.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, H. T. (Red) and Dottie Mitchell of 
Splendora, Tx.; four grandsons, Tommie and Mark Mitchell of Houston, Tx., Gregory 
and Timmy Mitchell of Splendora, Tx.; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces 
and nephews. Three of these are James H. Poole, Eleanor P. Wright and Dorothy F. 
Floyd of Jena.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Mitchell, age 81 of the Belah Community will e held 
at 2:00 p.m. today Sunday, December 3, 2006 in the Kinner & Stevens Funeral home Chapel 
in Jena with Bro. Mike Williamson officiating.   Burial will follow in the Belah 
Cemetery in Trout.   

Mrs. Mitchell passed away at her residence on Friday, December 1, 2006.  She and her 
husband, Manuel owned and operated mitchell's Grocery, Mitch's Restaurant, and the 
Montgomery Ward mail order store in Jena for many years.  She was a member of the 
Church of God in Midway.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by two daughters: Sherlene Nunnally and husband John of 
Belah, and Loretta Mitchell and husband Sean of Belah; her son; Gary L. Mitchell and 
wife Gracie of Belah; two sisters Vera Henderson of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Virginia 
Mitchell of Jena; five grandchildren; one great grandchild, seven step grandchildren; 
and nine step great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel 
Mitchell, a son Ernest Duane Mitchell, a sister Frances Deforth and her parents
