"Ted" Nethery, Sr., 90, of Natchitoches, died Friday, June 5, 1998, in Heritage Manor in that city. He worked in the oil industry for 46 years traveling in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. He retired from Hunt Oil Company in 1972 as a production superintendent. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Natchitoches since 1964. He was involved in the Boy Scouts, Kiwanis Club, Natchitoches Historical Association and public school committees. He was also an active member of the Gideons holding several leadership positions in the organization. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. June 7, in First Baptist Church in Natchitoches with Rev. Ben Carter officiating. Burial followed at 4 p.m. in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Clarks under direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Edythe Faye Nethery of Natchitoches; tow sons, William B. Nethery, Jr. of Baytown, Texas and Tommy O. Nethery of Kingsport, Tenn.; one daughter, Dolores Louise Floyd of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; plus a host of relatives living in the LaSalle-Caldwell Parish area. Pallbearers were Bryan Nethery, David Nethery, John Nethery, Stephen Nethery, Heath Floyd, Masson Hogan and Nick Bennett.
