Sunday morning on the highway between Tullos and Urania when a wheel came off of his model T Ford touring car. The car turned completely over and left young Nowlen lying in the center of the highway. He was rushed to the LaSalle Clinic in Olla, but died in about 10 minutes from internal injuries and a crushed back. Nowlen was planning on a fishing and camping trip Sunday and was on the way to gather his friends who were to go with him when the accident occurred. There were no witnesses to the accident, but evidence showed a wheel had come off the car, causing it to turn over. Funeral services were held from New Union church, Tullos, and he was buried in New Union cemetery Sunday evening. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Nowlen, three brothers and two sisters, all of the home in Tullos.
