Coda Salter and Rev. E. Dd. Dearmon officiating. Mr. Nowlin died at Hessmer on Thursday. He was a retired oil field worker. Burial was in New Union Cemetery near Tullos under arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertie B. Nowlin of Tullos three daughters, Mrs. Jean Hailey of Jena, Mrs. Steve Brouillette of Hessmer, Mrs. Ray Morphis, Abeline, Texas; three sons, Lester Nowlin of Tullos, Jack Nowlin of Laurel, Miss., Denis Nowlin of Monroe; and a sister, Mrs. Dora Gargle of Natchitoches; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Sam Lindsay, Sam Evans, Earl Francis, Elmo Hailey, Tiney Ivy and J. E. Hudnall.
