Nugent, 78, of Olla, died at 2:26 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 1992, at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia. He was a retired pumper with Placid Oil company, a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church and a member of the charles f. buck Masonic Lodge No. 260. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Riser and son Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Joel Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla under direction of Riser and Son, Inc. of Columbia. Survivors include his wife, Mora Mae Snoody Nugent of Olla; two sons, Hansel Nugent of Pearl, Ms. and Delton Nugent of Olla, his daughters, Virginia Emig and Brenda McClary, both of Olla, his brother, Earl Nugent of Monroe and eleven grandchildren and 6 grea-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Floyd, George Humphries, Henry Hebert, Don Roark, Smith Hopkins Jr. and Glen Black.
