Date: October 26, 2005; Page 18A Headline: Rev. Jesse G. Norris Rev. Jesse G. Norris, 85, of Pineville, died Saturday morning, October 22, 2005, at the Hill Top Nursing Center in Pineville. He was a graduate of Louisiana College and served as a Louisiana Baptist preacher for 61-plus years, spending his entire life of ministry in both the pastorate and in evangelism. Rev. Norri was a man with much compassion and love who ministered for six decades with one constant recurring theme: that is "Pressing on" toward the goal of reaching the lost for Christ. A native of LaSalle PArish, Rev. Norris conducted revival services in almost every Baptist church in the parish over the past 61 years. Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 24, in the Philadelphia Baptisst Church in Libuse with the Revs. Jimmy Robertson and Jim Thomasee officiating. Interment followed in the Aimoch Cemetery near Summerville under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Norris of Ohio and Mae Corley of Rogers; as well as three brothers, Ernest Norris, Shelby Norris, and Jack Norris; and a sister, Virginia Breland. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Muriel Norris of Pineville; one son, James Norris of Pineville; two daughters, Shirley Robertson of Fairview, Tn., and Charlene Norris of Rockledge, Fla.; two brothers, Rev. Willard Norris and Glen Norris, both of Rogers; two grandchildren, Wesley J. Robertson, III, and Rebecca R. Robertson; and one great-granddaughter, Paige Robertson. ========== ------------------------------ NUGENT, Aliene Robinson Nugent ------------------------------ Submitted by: Bryan Price Winnfield, Louisiana (no relation) Submitted: January 2008 Source: www.thejenatimes.net Aliene Robinson Nugent, 69, of Urania, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Healthsouth Riverside Hospital in Alexandria. She was born July 28, 1937, in Clarks to the union of Albert and Fannie Youngblood Nugent. Mrs. Nugent was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Urania. Services were held at 1p.m., Friday, May 11, at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Reverend Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Nugent; and two brothers, Melvin Robinson and Marvin Robinson. Survivors include three sons, Gerald Nugent, Jr., of Urania, Paul Nugent of Monroe and Matthew Nugent of Colfax; two daughters, Kathy Roberts of Winnfield and Carol Kidd of Pearland, Tx.; two sisters, Myrtle Boyette of Olla and Beverly Callender of Urania; 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kurt Boyd, Kyle Boyd, Andrew Roberts, Johnny Robinson, Freddie Ainsworth, and Richard Allen. Date: February 8, 1989 Headline: Earl B. Nugent Earl B. Nugent, 80 of the Chickasaw Community near Olla, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, February 5, 1989, at his residence. He was a retired oilfield worker. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home with the Revs. Arvie Jolly and Emitte Belgard, officiating. Burial followed in Taylor's Chapel Cemetery near Summerville under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Maurine H.
