Mrs. Viola Ogden

Mrs. Viola Ogden,99, of Urania, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 1985,
at the Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.

She was a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church located south of Jena.

Services were held at 2 p.m on Monday at the East Jena Bapist Church with
Revs. Larry Walker and Laymon LaCour officiating.

Burial followed at the Pine Grove Cemetery of Whitehall with arrangement by
Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include two daughters, Lillie Mae Meredith of Urania and Ozanner
Ezell of Cut Off; o son, Pete Ogden of Jena; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-
grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and
nephews.

Pallbearers were Mike Chevallier, Wayne Cockerham, Junior Ezell, Jamie Ogden,
James Meredith, William Cox, Terry Lemay and Paul Bradford.

Mary Viola Crooks was born April 22, 1885 in LaSalle Parish, La. to the union
of Madison & Ozaner Paul Crooks. (Ozaner Paul Crooks Bradford Chevallier
Kendrick)

Viola married William M. "Bill" Paul June 8, 1904. (Marriage recorded in
Rapides Parish, La.) To this union the following children were born: 

1.Olive Bulah Paul b. 1905 d. 1973 m. Fred Chevallier

2.Lillie Mae Paul b. Oct. 8, 1907 d. Jan. 8, 1995 m. 1.Anthony Harp m.2 Avery
"Bud Meredith

3. Leslie Earl Paul, Sr. b. Aug. 25, 1912 d. June 16, 1977 m. Lois Huffman
(My Grandparents)

William M. "Bill Paul died Nov. 14, 1915. Viola later married a second time to
Willie James "Call" Ogden, Sr. on February 2, 1919 ( marriage recorded in
LaSalle Parish, La.) To this union the following children were born :

1. Valadine Ogden b. July 16, 1919 d. 1947      M. Burl Cockerham

2. Ozanner Ogden b. Aug. 14, 1921               M. J. L. Ezell

3. W. J. "Pete" Ogden   b. July 11, 1924        M. Margie Sharp

On February 7, 1945 Viola's 2nd husband Willie James "Call" Ogden died. Both
of her late husband's are buried at Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart.
