A. Anders Funeral services were held at the Nolley Memorial Methodist Church at 2 p.m., Wednesday for Henry Allen Anders, 83, who passed away at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Murrel's Clinic and Hospital in Pineville. Officiating at the funeral were Rev. Otis Spinks, pastor of Nolley Memorial Methodist Church and Rev. P. M. Carraway, Methodist pastor at Winnfield. Interment was in the Nolley Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home. Mr. Anders was confined to Murrel's Clinic and Hospital for about two weeks prior to his death. He resided in Jena until about 3 1/2 years ago. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Alice Anders of Alexandria; four sons, Sam Anders of Vallejo, Calif., Roy L. Anders of Shreveport, Reginald H. Anders of Natchez, Miss., and Jesse O. Anders of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Paul G. Polk of Alexandria and Mrs. J. O. Shelwick of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Marvin E. Anders of Tioga, Claude Anders of Carthage, Tex., and Thomas V. Anders of Beverly Hills, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. J. C. Wilson of Pineville, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
