P. Gamewell in Good Pine, are deeply shocked over this tragic event in her life and are offering every evidence of their sympathy in this occasion of sorrow and bereavement. The following was clipped from he Alexandria Daily Town Talk of March 10: "At the family resident in the Ruby addition, Pineville, La., at 11:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 10, 1931, Mrs. Lula Parr Allen, aged 65 years, wife of the late George Allen, who preceded here in death by one week. Deceased is survived by two sons and two daughters: Sam G. Allen of Tioga, La., T. G. Allen, Pineville; Mrs. E. P. Gamewell, Good Pine, La.; and Mrs. N. Erigan, of Corpus Christi, Texas. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. W. B. Sellers, Marshall, Texas, and one brother, Jack Parr, of Avenger, Texas. George Allen died at 9:45 o'clock last Tuesday morning, March 2, and he was being lowered to his final resting place, the illness that proved fatal to his devoted helpmate, was gaining a hold upon her. She was at first confined to her bed with influenza which grew steadily worse, developing finally into pneumonia."
