Brassell, parents of Mrs. Mabel Clark of Jena died within weeks of each other recently. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Viola Brassell, 76, were held February 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Northside Baptist church in Conroe, Texas. She died after a lengthy illness. The Rev. H.M. Dry officiated at the services and burial followed in the Willis cemetery. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekka lodge. Two weeks later, on March 12, at 2:30 p.m., services for Mr. Brassell, 80, were held at the same church. He had also been ill for some time. Rev. Dry officiated and burial was in the Willis cemetery, also. He was a member of the Masnic Lodge of Conroe. Survivors of the couple include six daughters, Mrs. Elmer R. Beverle of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Ruby Robbins, Mrs. Carl Hilbig and Mrs. Stanley Gardner of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Mabel Clark of Jena and Mrs. Olan Hassell of Palestine, Texas; one son, Prentis of Conroe; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Brassell is also survived by one brother, Sam Mullen of Shreveport. MR. Brassell is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fannie M. Faraker of Willits, Calif. Pallbearers for the funeral of Mrs. Brassell were Gray Wilson, Bob Ellison, L.D. Little, L.J. Hassell, W.J. Harris and Alton Groschke. Pallbearers for the funeral of Mr. Brassell were John E. Boedeker, L.D. Little, Bob Allison, W.J. Harris, L.J. Hassell and Alton Groschke.
