Headline:  Mrs Mattie Benton, Jena Resident, Dies at Orleans Hospital

Mrs Mattie Benton, about 68 years of age, wife of Judge W. E. Benton, died in 
New Orleans Monday night following a long period of ill health.  Mrs Benton 
was removed to New Orleans from her Jena home several days ago, but failed to 
respond to medical treatment.

The body has been shipped to Jena and funeral and burial will take place at 2 
pm today (Wednesday).  Kinner and Stevens, local morticians, will be in 
charge of the funeral.  Tentative arrangements are for the funeral to be held 
at the Jena Methodist Church with burial in Nolly Memorial Cemetery.

Besides Judge Benton, the deceased, is survived by one sister, Mrs Susie 
Warwick, who resides south of Jena.
