Benson Dies at Jena Monday Morning Mrs. Maud Jackson Benson, 93, of Tullos died at Golden Age Nursing Home in Jena Monday, April 10th. Mrs. Benson died at 2:40 am. She was a housewife and had been a resident of Tullos since 1927. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:00 am at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Jena, with the Rev. George Sherman of Olla Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery at Pineville. Graveside services were held by Rev. Sherman. Survivors are one son, Jackson Arthur Benson of Shreveport; one brother, Guy M. Jackson of Ferriday; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Bodle of Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. Edith Walden of Kennett, Mo., and Mrs. Beth McKelvey of St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Al D. Cobb, Sam Evans, Jimmie Bardin, Billy Ray McKinney, Barney Basham, T. O. Watson, and D. C. Shaw. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Drewett, Owen Jones, Orrin Capps, and O. G. Milam.
