Bridges, 60, of Jena, died at 4:30 a.m., Sunday, January 9, 200, at the Willis Knighton hospital in Shreveport. He was a LaSalle Parish merchant, being owner and operator of R&B Pit Stop in Jena and Olla. He was born Jan. 28, 1939, at Alexandria, to the union of R. J. and Juanita Aiken Bridges. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with the Revs. Johnnie Phillips and Alban Poole officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bridges of Jena; one daughter, Nita Deville of Shreveport; one brother, Eddie Bridges of Jena; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Buddy Henry, Brice Henry, Gerald Brooks, Clifford Elliott, Allen Croom, Bill Creed, Jimmy Manning, and Bob Garifo. Honorary pallbearers were John Gresham, Carl Stucky, Bill Williams, Wally Walker, Tom Terral, James Herman Creed, Gene Colvin, John Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Cliff Wishum, Cade Leggett, Banjo Bradford, and Over the Hill Hunting Club members.
