Boyd, 72, of Jena, died Monday, December 20, 1999, in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was a sawer in the sawmill industry, member and deacon of Bellevue Baptist Church of Jena, a coach and umpire with the Dixie Youth Baseball program and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during World War II. Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Byron Norris and C. D. Beard officiating. Interment will follow in the Belah Cemetery at Belah under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Myron Winborne Boyd of Jena; two sons, Randy Boyd of Jena and Paul Boyd of Sibley; four brothers, Enos Boyd of Trout, Clementh Boyd of Brooksville, Fla., Charles Ray Boyd of Centerville, Tenn., and Howard Boyd of Sneads, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ollie Boyd, Nick Powe, Jack McCartney, Bobby Johnson, Nick Hatten, and Lee Robbins.
