K. G. Brooks, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, and the Revs. Elbert Jones, J. N. Sandifer, and James W. Miller conducted the final rites, with interment following in the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena. Graveside rites were conducted by the Temple pastor. Mr. Brown, a farmer by occupation, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Brown of Jena; two sons, James and Gemes, both of Jena; two brothers, Ferman and Floyd, both of Jena, and five sisters, Mrs. Savilla Woodard, Mrs. May McHaney, Mrs. Gertie Venson, Mrs. Gladys Norman, and Mrs. Icy Ainsworth, all of Jena, and four grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers for the final rites were Cecil Carroll, Houston Carroll, Travis Norman, Velton Woodard, Harlon Ainsworth, and Edward Blow, all nephews of the deceased.
