Frizzell is Found Not Guilty in District Court Sub-Headline: Tried for the Killing of J. D. Bradford in Tullos George Frizell, charged with the murder of J. D. Bradford, town Marshall of Tullos on the night of August 18th, was found not guilty by a jury in District Court in Jena last week. The case consumed three days and two nights in trial and was attended by one of the largest crowds that has been in attendance in court in Jena for several years. Mr. Bradford was widely known throughout this entire territory. The murder took place in a rooming house in Tullos about one o'clock in the morning of August 18th, where Frizell lived. Frizell admitted the killing but claimed self defense and this claim was accepted by the jury that was out only about two hours including the noon hour Friday. Attorney A. D. Flowers, of Jena, handled the case for the defendant while the State was represented by District Attorney Fuller, assisted by Judge Steve Holstein, of Winnsboro, La. Much difficulty was experienced in selecting a jury to try the case, the State exhausting its challenges when the eighth juror was chosen. The jury trying the case was composed of M. E. Wilson, Thomas Kilby, C. W. Pool, C. H. Davis, M. H. Flaherty, C. C. Boyd, F. H. McBride, J. C. McDowell, Howard Finley, Bolton Walker, Ralph Stephenson and Claude Godwin.
