Bennett, Former Meth. Pastor Here, Dies in Ind. Funeral services for Rev. J. O. Bennett were held at the Colfax Methodist Church at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning July 10 with J. C. Rousseaux in charge of the services, the funeral address was delivered by Dr. R. H. Harper of Alexandria. Interment was made in the Colfax Cemetery. The deceased died Saturday, June 29, at Seymour, Indiana, at the age of 83 years. Rev. Bennett had many friends in Jena who were saddened by his death. He was pastor of the Jena Methodist Church for one year, receiving church for four years, from November 1917 to November 1921. He is survived by two sons, R. C. Bennett of Huntsville, Ala., and W. A. Bennett of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. A. S. J. Neill of Athens and Mrs. W. H. Kaufman of Seymour, Ind. Friends of the family in Jena and surrounding community extend their sympathy in this sorrow.
