Final Rites Held For John Friley Brooks, 55 Monday, February 23

Funeral services fro John Friley Brooks, 55 farmer of Rhinehart who died
February 22, at the residence of his son, Oren J. Brooks in Jena were held
February 23 at Rhinehart Baptist church at 3 p.m. with Rev. McDaniel of Trout
officiating. Interment was made at the Pentacost cemetery near Jena. Upshaw
Funeral Home of Jena was in charge of funeral arrangements.

The deceased is a native of Jena and has spent his entire lifetime in LaSalle
and Catahoula parishes.

He is survived by his widow, the former Pearl Kenon of Rhinehart; two sons,
Ferris and Oren; one daughter, Mrs. Maggie Dollar of Jena; three brothers,
Rev. I. J. Brooks of Monroe, Rev. L.H. Brooks of Rhinehart, and D.H. Brooks of
Olla; and one sister, Mrs. H.L. Sandifer of Manifest.

Pallbearers were: A.L. Brooks, K.G. Brooks, Madison Brooks, Dodd Brooks,
Dargan Brooks, and Paul Brooks.
