Brooks in Jena were held February 23 at Rhinehart Baptist church at 3 p.m. with Rev. McDaniel of Trout officiating. Interment was made at the Pentacost cemetery near Jena. Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena was in charge of funeral arrangements. The deceased is a native of Jena and has spent his entire lifetime in LaSalle and Catahoula parishes. He is survived by his widow, the former Pearl Kenon of Rhinehart; two sons, Ferris and Oren; one daughter, Mrs. Maggie Dollar of Jena; three brothers, Rev. I. J. Brooks of Monroe, Rev. L.H. Brooks of Rhinehart, and D.H. Brooks of Olla; and one sister, Mrs. H.L. Sandifer of Manifest. Pallbearers were: A.L. Brooks, K.G. Brooks, Madison Brooks, Dodd Brooks, Dargan Brooks, and Paul Brooks.
