From The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal Date: Wednesday, November 7, 2001 Page: 13A Headline: Area Deaths Vida Ora Beck Vida Ora Beck, 75 of Nebo, died Sunday morning November 4, 2001, in the Kindred Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was a homemaker and the widow of World War II veteran and POW James Walter Beck. Services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary Norris, Scotty Guillot and mack Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Cemetery of Nebo under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include two sons, Mark Anthony Chalk and Theodore Dwane Chalk, bot of San Leon, Tx.; one daughter, Angela Jeanne Vandermeer of Spain; one brother, Walter Williams of Pennington, Ala.; one sister, Daisy Dyer of San Luis Obispo, Ca., and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John David Little, Greg Deason, Larry Lambeth, Robin Tradewell, J. W. Thomas and Byron Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Chalk, Danny Chalk, Mark Chalk and Curtis Chalk.
