He was a retired oil field worker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Jena. Services were conducted at the First United Pentecostal Church of Jena on Monday, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Pounders, Rev. J. C. Vanover, and Rev. Don Sterling, officiating. Burial followed at the Belah Cemetery in the Belah community under arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Stella Brewer of Jena; two daughters, Mrs. Irma Lea Deville and Mrs. Laura Faye Bradford, both of Jena; three sons, Virdon Brewer, Benny Brewer and Dean Brewer, all of Jena; one sister Mrs. Olie Palmer of Jena; three half-brothers, Paul Brewer, O. V. Brewer and Virgil Brewer, all of Arkansas; four half-sisters, Mrs. Ethel Faulkenberry, Mrs. Annie Burns, Mrs. Bessie Vickers, and Mrs. Mattie Smith, all of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Donnie Brewer, Dennis Brewer, Tommy Deville, Junior Deville, James Brewer and Bennie Brewer, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Reggie Brewer, Johnnie Green, David Brewer and Leon Graham.
