Crooks is Buried in Jena on Saturday Morning Funeral services were held at the Jena Baptist church on last Saturday morning for John G. Crooks, 60, former Zenoria deputy sheriff, whose death occurred at his home there Friday morning about nine o'clock. The coroner's jury rendered a verdict the Mr. Crooks came to his death at his own hands. Rev. B.T. Goodwin officiated at the funeral services, interment followed in the Nolley Memorial cemetery with Kinner & Stevens, local undertakers in charge. Mr. Crooks is survived by his wife and one son, Pomplo Crooks. He also leaves one brother, Gilbert, of Franklin parish and a score of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
