All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: Dec 8, 1932 Headline: Carl Cruse of Olla is Killed in Truck Wreck Saturday Carl Cruse, of Olla and Little Chickasaw community, was instantly killed last Saturday morning at about eleven o'clock when a lumber truck he was driving blew out a front tire and turned over pinning him under the load. The accident happened about one mile south of Kelly on the Monroe-Alexandria highway. One of his brothers who was riding with him escaped with only a few minor bruises by jumping clear of the machine just before it turned over. Mr. Cruse was 23 years of age, single, and lived at home with his parents, and five brothers. He was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Cruse and also the oldest of fifteen grandchildren and the only one to be called by the angel of Death. Funeral services were held Sunday a The Little Chickasaw Church by Rev. Henry Hopkins who is the pastor there.
