L. C. Crain officiating. Mrs. Carter left a half-brother, Hilery McCaskill, in Jena. She died Thursday afternoon, December 29, at Caldwell Hospital after a long illness. Burial was in the Old Union Church Cemetery with arrangements by Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors are her husband, Troy Carter of Grayson, one daughter, Mrs. Jewel Coats of Grayson; four half-brothers Hilery McCaskill of Jena, Jimmy McCaskill of Beaumont, Tex., L. C. McCaskill of Monroe, and Oswell McCaskill of Graverville, Calif., two half-sisters Mrs. Evie Vusby of Clarks and Mrs. Effie Jackson of Annapolis, Calif., six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
