Headline:  Funeral Services for E. L. Cotten, 93, Held Sept. 1st

Funeral services were held on September 1, 1946, Rev. A. B. Masters, 
Jonesville, officiating, for E. Lott Cotten, aged 93 years, at Harrisonburg 
Cemetery, with Hixson Bros., funeral directors, in charge of funeral 
arrangements.  Death came on August 31, at 12:30 p. m. at his home in 
Harrisonburg.

Mr. Cotten was born in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, on June 21, 1853.  He later 
moved to Catahoula Parish, where he has resided for the past thirty years.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Strong, Jonesville, and Mrs. Lucy 
Husband, Harrisonburg; three sons, Oscar Cotten, Harrisonburg; Butler Cotten, 
Manifest; and Purvis Cotten, Gilbert, La.
