Headline:  Area Deaths

Gertrude Crooks, 92, of Jonesville, died at 1:20 a.m., Friday, February 11, 
2000, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

She was a homemaker and member of prosperity Baptist Church.  She was born 
April 8, 1907, in Catahoula Parish to the union of Ed and Mary Crooks 
Chevallier.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, at Prosperity Baptist Church 
with the Revs. David Willoughby and Walter Lloyd officiating.

Interment followed in the Bethel Cemetery of Deville under direction of 
Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Crooks Worsham Chevallier of Jena; five 
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bobby Worsham, David Jones, Leon Linder, Larry lee 
Chevallier, Daniel King, and Nathan Eymad.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Lee Chevallier, Chuck Chevallier, and Bo 
Chevallier.
