Cockerham Rites Held Here February 9th Funeral services for Mr. West Moses Cockerham, 91 years old, were held at 3:15 o'clock, Feb. 9, 1944, at The First Baptist Church with Rev. A. L. Russell, assisted by Rev. W. F. Roberts, officiating. Interment was in the Summerville Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Cockerham had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Stella Willard, in Lake Charles and died in a hospital there, Feb. 8, at 2:30 o'clock. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Stella Willard, and three sons: C. A., Cuny, and Willie and several grandchildren. Pallbearers were James M. Smith, Dewey Wishum, Shep Poland, Barney Basham, Luther Doughty, and Billie Posey. (NOTE: "W. A." in headline, but William Moses Cockerham in the obituary.)
