A. Davis Saturday morning after a lingering illness, and was buried in Hillside Cemetery Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. James Brooks, a Baptist minister, at the Columbia Methodist Church, it being the dying request of Mr. Cottingham that the Rev. Brooks, who was a close personal friend, conduct the funeral services. The deceased was a native of Caldwell Parish, but in his early childhood, his father, Richard Cottingham, and his family moved to St. Landry Parish where he grew to manhood, but after the death of his father some years ago, he returned to Caldwell Parish. He is survived by numerous relatives besides his sister, Mrs. Davis. At the request of his sister and other relatives, the Rev. S. D. Howard, pastor of the Columbia Methodist Church, made a few very appropriate and encouraging remarks at the graveside. Mr. Cottingham was not married.
