The Rev. J. P. Owens, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Otis Spinks, pastor of the Nolley Memorial Methodist Church officiated at the services. The song program was presented by the choir, and by Nick Medica, who rendered a vocal selection. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Rhinehart, under the direction of the Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals, Jena. Mrs. Carter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jena. She was the widow of the late Richard L. Carter. She was long a resident of the Jena area. The Carter family moved to Trout from Texas in 1929. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. B. Richardson of Rhinehart and Mrs. Truly Friday of Alexandria; one son, Doyle Carter of Jena; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Goetzman of Jena and Mrs. M. Z. Belvin of Oakdale; and two grandsons, Richard Fewell of Rhinehart and Donald Friday of Alexandria. Pallbearers at the funeral were T. S. Harp, William Maxwell, K. G. Brooks, T. W. Terrel, Don Taylor, and Trewett Doughty.
