B. Carraway, Passes Away July 30 E. B. Carraway, 68, prominent general merchandise merchant and father of Tommy Y. Carraway and Archie B. Carraway of Jena, passed away at 6:45 a.m. July 30 at Dr. Nasif's Clinic in Jonesville. He was a resident of Wallace Ridge, Ward 6, Catahoula Parish. He was born Oct. 1, 1882 in Jefferson County, Miss. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. E. B. Carraway of Wallace Ridge, two sons, Tommy and Archie, both of Jena; five daughters, Mrs. Nellie Dayton, Natchez, Miss.; Mrs. Elizabeth Dean, Beaumont, Tex.; Mrs. Ethel Barrileaux, Beaumont, Tex.; Mrs. Doris Judice, China, Tex.; Mrs. Minnie Kickley, Orange, Tex.; and 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held July 31 at 2 p.m. at the Wallace Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverends Dayton Doughty and J. O. McNair officiating. Interment was in the New Jena Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers at the funeral were Moody Wright, Calvin Chatman, Jim Summerall, Buddy Smith, Luther Rainey and Clarence Purvis.
