Mr. William Branch Cobb, 71 years of age, retired merchant of Sikes, and father of Al Cobb of Jena, died at his home here Tuesday, December 10 at 3:25 p.m. The deceased was born in Union County, Arkansas, but has resided in Louisiana for many years, and in Jena about 9 months. He was a member of the Sikes Baptist Church and of the Eros Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were held at the residence at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 11 with Rev. Finley W. Tinnin, First Baptist Church Pastor, and Rev. Roberts, Nolley Methodist Church Pastor, both of Jena, officiating. Interment followed at the Nolley Memorial Cemetery here. Surviving are: Fannie Montgomery Cobb, widow; Al M. Cobb, son; Mrs. Leon Gorman and Mrs. M. L. Summers of Strong, Ark., Mrs. W. W. Davis of Shreveport, and Mrs. R. Telford of Junction City, Ark., sisters; Mr. James Cobb of Chatham, Mr. Sam Cobb of Ida Bell, Okla., and Mr. Morgan Cobb of Frisco, Calif., brothers. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena.
