DATE: Wednesday, November 14, 2001 Page 17A Bess Vise Copeland Bess Vice Copeland, 86, of Jena, died Saturday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Rapides Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jena First Baptist Church where she served as nursery worker for 37 years. She was a resident of Jena for the past 61 years. Mrs. Copeland was the daughter of Henry A. and Frances O'Neal Vize of Taylor; the youngest of Eleven children. Services were held Tuesday, November 13 at 11 a.m. at the Jena First Baptist Church with the Revs. Sammy David, Dominick DiCarlo, and John Ed Snell officiating. Burial followed at the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Kinner and Stevens funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Garland (Bob) Copeland and a daughter, Wanda burnham. Survivors include a daughter,, Sara Jo David and her husband Sammy of Baton Rouge and a son, Terry Copeland and his wife Pam of tupelo, Ms.; a sister Bertha Prothro of Rockport, Tx. She was also survived by eight grandchildren: Nancy Rodrique, Bruce Burnhan, Keith Burnham, Penny Mayo, Dawn Scroggs, Danny David, Matt Copeland, and Julie Tatum; and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Chuck Scroggs, Justin Scroggs, Keith Mayo, John Tatum, Nick Nelson, and Phil Rodrique. Honorary pallbearers were John Barrett, Clarence Bradford, Clarence Cockerham, Bobby Wilson, Bruce Wilson, and Dixie Wilson.
