DATE: Wednesday, October 25, 2000 Page 16A HEADLINE: Area Deaths SUB-HEADLINE: Gennette Freeman Collins Gennette Freeman Collins, 53, of Jena, died at 4:15 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2000, at the LaSalle General Hospital in Jena following a brief illness. She was co-owner and operator of Tiny Tot Nursery in Jena for 16 years and was a member of Midway Baptist Church where she was an active choir member and Sunday School teacher. She was born August 6, 1947, in Richton, Mississippi to the union of Sam and Ora Boyd Freeman. Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 23, at Midway Baptist Church near Jena with the Revs. Rick Feazell and Joey Paul officiating. Interment followed in theHailey Cemetery of Nebo under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Glen Collins of Jena; one son, Cody Glen Colins of Jena; one step-daughter, Ann Collins McClendon of west Monroe; one step- son, Michael Collins of West Monroe; two sisters, Velma Ainsworth of Houma and Thelma Frierfon of Spring, Texas; two brothers, Charles Freeman of Hattisburg, Ms., and Tommy Freeman of Petal, Ms.; and two step-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Midway Baptist Church deacons Cleveland Poole, Wayne Richardson, W. G. Wilson, Walter Craig, Fred Powell, and Andy Gresham.
