She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olla. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia with the Rev. Alban Poole officiating. Interment followed in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery west of Columbia under direction of Riser and Son Inc. of Columbia. Survivors include her husband, Leroy Coates of Columbia; three sons, Kenneth W. Coates of West Monroe, Steven Coates and Brian Coates, both of Columbia; one daughter, Tina Hoggatt of Winnsboro; five brothers, Travis Taylor and John Taylor, both of Houston, Texas, and Laverl Taylor, Ron Taylor and Ricky Taylor, all of Pasadena, Texas; one sister, Dois Cook of Pasadena; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Steve May, Arlin Car, Steve Parker, Al Taylor, Floyd "Slim" Hodges, and Glen Gilmore.
