All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: December 13, 1956, Thursday Headline: Henry Doughty Dies at Jonesboro Home Henry Doughty, 75, of Jonesboro, a native and farmer resident of the Manifest-Rhinehart area, was buried recently at the Jonesboro Cemetery, following his death at a Jonesboro hospital on Nov. 28. Mr. Doughty had been in poor health about a year but had reentered the hospital only a few days before his death. The Rev. W. D. Becton of Westlake and the Rev. David Mason, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro where Mr. Doughty was a member, conducted the final rites, with the interment under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro. A teacher in the public schools for many years, clerk of the Ouachita Baptist Association for a long period of time, and retired several years ago as a school bus driver, Mr. Doughty is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ola Walker Doughty of Jonesboro; four daughters, Mrs. Allegra Kirkland of Beaumont, Texas; Mrs. Melba Roberts of Shreveport; Mrs. Dot White of Westlake, and Mrs. Betty Moseley of Jonesboro; one sister, Mrs. P. C. Girlinghouse of Jena, two brothers, J. M. Doughty of Pineville and A. G. Doughty of Bakersfield, Calif., and eight grandchildren.
