Kaga Doughty Held in Pine Grove Reburial services for T/Sgt. Kaga A. Doughty, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, at the Pine Grove Cemetery with the Rev. McNair of Jonesville, and the Rev. Hold of East Jena Baptist Church officiating. Interment took place in the Pine Grove Cemetery. The military services were under the direction of the VFW Post of Jonesville. Sgt. Doughty enlisted in the Army on July 6, 1940, and received his training in Ft. Lewis, Wash., and San Francisco, Calif. In June 1943, he was sent to New Guinea, where he was stationed until the invasion of Luzon. He received his wounds in the Battle for Manila. Before his death, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement during combat operations, having distinguished himself above his comrades. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J. M. Boyd, Mrs. Dutch McClure of Jonesville, and Miss Della Doughty, of Jena; four brothers, Carlos, Hilry, Curtis, all of Wallace Ridge, and J. Doughty, of Jena. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hixson Bros.
