Headline:  Area Deaths

James Dixon, 62, of Goldburg, North Carolina, and formerly of Jena, died on 
January 1, 2000.

He was retired from the United States Army and was a member of the Baptist 
faith.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8 at Trout Creek Baptist Church 
with Rev. Ronald Gardner officiating.

Interment followed in Webster Cemetery of Good Pine with arrangements by 
Gayden Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include one daughter, Veronica Dixon of Raleigh, N. C.; his 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taft Jackson of Jena; one brother, Gary Crumpton of 
Tacoma, Wa.; two sisters, Gayle Crumpton of Tacoma, Wa., and Ella Jane Valley 
of Alemogor, N. M.
