Doughty, 80, is Buried Saturday at Heard Cemetery John Manuel Doughty, 80, who died last Thursday night at 7:30 o'clock at a Pineville nursing home, was buried Saturday following services held at the First Baptist Church at Tioga. Dr. Billy Smith and the Rev. Harold Davis conducted the final rites, with interment following in the Heard Cemetery near Manifest under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. J. P. Owens of Jena assisted in the graveside rites. Mr. Doughty, who had served as a deacon of the Baptist Church since his younger days, is survived by two sons, B. E. of Tioga and J. E. of Jonesville; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Girlinghouse of Jena; a brother, A. G. of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren, including Dr. B. E. Doughty of Jena, and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Doughty, Everett Doughty, James Doughty, Riley Doughty, Earl Doughty and Eldon Doughty.
