Drewett, 38, died at 12:10 o'clock Monday morning at the Veteran's Hospital in Alexandria where he had been conveyed a few days previously. Mr. Drewett had been in ill health for some time, but had been at his home in Jena for the past four or five months. His condition grew worse last week and he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The deceased had been a resident of Jena for the past 31 years, coming here when a small boy from Grant Parish. He was the son of former Sheriff and Mrs. T. J. Drewett, who now reside at St. Gabriel, La. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Shreveport. The funeral services were conducted at the chapel in the National Cemetery in Pineville on Tuesday afternoon and his body interred in the cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Drewett's wife, the former Sarah Drake and two children, Alta Ruth and Tommie, survive him. He also leaves his mother and father and one brother, L. L. Drewett of Jena, as well as a score of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
