He was the retired postmaster of the post office at Rochelle. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Jena First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Blake, the Rev. Bill Moore and the Rev. K. G. Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery near Whitehall under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Duke Nelson of Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, Perry E. Duke of San Antonio, Texas, and Gordon Duke of Sherman, Texas; one brother, Marshall H. Duke of Jena; two sisters, Miss Allie Duke of Jena and Mrs. Ethel Roberts of Route 2, Alexandria; 13 grandchildren; host of great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
