All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: January 15, 1931 Headline: John Davis Dies at Home in Midway Sub-Headline: Was Resident of LaSalle for About 20 Years; Buried Monday A host of sorrowing friends and relatives paid their last tributes of respect to John Davis on Monday, January 12, when he was laid to rest in the Belah Cemetery, after having suffered with stomach and lung trouble for about three months. Rev. T. J. Ratcliff, pastor of the Midway Baptist Church, and J. J. Allbritton conducted the funeral services. Mr. Davis was born in a town of Missouri on December 25, 1856, making him approximately 74 years of age. He has been residing in this section for about 20 years, death occurring Monday, Jan. 12, at his Midway home, where he has resided the past nine months. Trout was his home before moving to Midway. Mr. Davis leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and scores of friends and relatives. The LaSalle Burial Association had charge of the funeral arrangement.
