From The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal Date: Wednesday, June 4, 1997 Page: 9A Headline: Area Deaths Henry Dotson, Jr. Henry Dotson, Jr., 65, of Jena, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 1997, in the Veterans Affairs Medical center in Pineville. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran with 20 ½ years of service time and was a member of the Louisiana National Guard. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, in the chcapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Bo Owens, Arnold Norsworthy and Ronnie Tarver officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dotson of Jena; one daughter, Merideth Thompson of Rogers; one son, Johnny L. Dotson of Shreveport; three sisters, Inez White and Alice Hatfield, bot of Trout, and Sue Humphries of Jena; three brothers, C. C. Dotson, Huey Dotson and Virgil Dotson all of trout; and two grandsons. Pallbearers were the U.S. Army honor Guard from Fort Polk, Louisiana.
