Doughty, 63, Is Buried Wednesday at Pine Grove Cemetery J. E. Doughty, 63, native and longtime resident of LaSalle Parish and the Jena area, was buried Wednesday following rites held at the Pine Grove Cemetery. Services for Mr. Doughty were held at the First Baptist Church in Ferriday, with the Rev. Briggs and the Rev. McKeithen conducting the rites. A resident of Ferriday for the past 10 years, Mr. Doughty died in a hospital there Tuesday morning. He had been in ill health since last August. A member of the long-established and prominent family in this section of Louisiana, Mr. Doughty is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Renfrow; two daughters, Mrs. Velda May Doughty Wilson and Mrs. Gladys Doughty Hutchenson; six sisters, Mrs. John Wilson and Mrs. J. A. Smith, both of Jena; Mrs. S. B. Spinks of the Fellowship community; Mrs. Minnie Arthurs of Foules, Mrs. Ada Haynes of Blade and Miss Lillie Doughty of Routon; a brother, W. R. Doughty of Sulphur Springs, Texas; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Interment was in the old family cemetery plot at Pine Grove. Serving as pallbearers were "Bo" Wilson, J. Doughty, Beard Spinks, Coy Doughty, Hugh Arthurs, James Smith, Aubrey Doughty and Monroe Wright.
