He was a retired railroad worker. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Searcy Baptist Church with Revs. Milton McManus and Aaron Paul Erwin, officiating. Burial followed at Chalk Hill Cemetery of Little Creek with arrangements by Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include a son, Alton Doughty of Jena; four daughters, Edna Palmer of Phoenix, Ariz.; Onesia Manchester of Jena, Thelma Hester of Victorville, Calif., and Alta Brook of El Paso, Texas; 18 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Cordiala Athena, Ronny Hester, Charles Hester, Kim Hester, Tyson Hester, and Colonil Hester.
