Mr. Evans was a dredge boat operator and he was discovered missing from the boat Sunday afternoon. Upon dragging, workers found his body. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 10:00 o'clock Wednesday morning at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. L. C. Coates officiating. Burial was in Heard Cemetery at Manifest under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home, Jena. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Evans of Orange, Tex.; two brothers, Charles and Tommy, both of Orange, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Joyce Helen Thurman of Orange, Texas, and a grandparent, Mrs. C. T. Bass of Harrisonburg.
