Headline:  Mrs. Dicy Edwards Dies at the Home of Daughter Friday

The death of Mrs. Dicy Edwards, 78, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. 
Boyd in Jonesville last Friday morning at 4 o'clock came as a distinct shock 
to her many friends and relatives of this section where she had made her home 
since coming to Louisiana from her birthplace in Mississippi about seventy 
years ago.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, having united 
with the Baptist religion when only 18 years of age.  Her husband, W. G. 
Edwards, preceded her to the grave two years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Pine Grove Cemetery at noon, with interment 
following in the cemetery at that place.  Rev. R. M. Doughty of Tullos, 
officiated at the services.

The deceased is survived by the following sons and daughters:  John M., Tom, 
and Genie of Jena; Bob and Henry of Ferriday; Mrs. C. E. Boyd, Jonesville; 
Mrs. C. E. Walker, Gilbert; Mrs. Walter Bell, Aimwell and Mrs. W. F. Lees, 
Jena.  She also leaves upwards of sixty grandchildren and 27 
great-grandchildren.
