Headline:  Area Deaths

Elva Evans, 85, of Jena, died at 1:01 a.m., Saturday, January 1, 2000, at 
LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

She was a homemaker and member of the East Jena Baptist Church.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 2, in the chapel of Hixson 
Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Craig James, Jimmy Keene, and 
Johnnie Phillips officiating.

Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery of Aimwell under direction of Hixson 
Brothers, Inc., of Jena.

Survivors include two daughters, Donnia Robertson of Jena and Beth Freeman of 
Summerville; two sons, Glen "Pete" Evans and Van Dale Evans, both of 
Summerville; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one 
great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Jack Sandifer, Bobby Sandifer, Tony Evans, Bryan Robertson, 
Dean Harvill, Leland Harvill, and Dan Evans.
